2010: the club, the year, the thoughts

Yes. I went to a club called 2010 as a teenager. We called it Twenty-Ten. It seemed like such a futuristic name. The music was off the charts. The dancing ecstatic. That was when we had curfews and the club only sold water, soda and juice. 1986-ish to whenever the mall fell to gangs and EVERYTHING went away. I was gone by then I think. Gone to college. 1990.
So. 20 year class reunion coming up. 20 YEARS! There’s a thought.
And the year? 2010? Already seems full of bright potential and loving goodness. Work will prevail but that’s alright. I like ...

it seems that the title of this blog has finally found its purpose……
i’ve gone from one foot to the other so to speak…..from the dancing one to the “other” one that leads me down other creative paths…….
i’m astonished to feel the shift …..
i don’t know when this blog stopped being about dancing and more about my other creative interests.
i haven’t danced in a while and won’t be making any dances until i pay off the costs of the last two.

it’s monday and it’s snowing. the first snow fall of the season. this tree told me it would snow soon. i knew it last week when i took its photo.
so here’s the final version of this sketch. i think it will eventually be a very large painting.

no turkey on thanksgiving. no splurge. no visitors. just us. quiet. doing our thing. what we always do. eat. sleep. exercise. make things. read. share. spend time. enjoy togetherness. made me go back through a lot of our pictures and sketches and words.
i’ve been wanting to paint on our walls. paintings. not decor painting. art. things.
we have a big blank wall in our sunroom. i’m going to put something on that wall. the words i revisited today are from our wedding vows. i drew a picture. then i swirled them all together in photoshop. something like this on that wall ...

COMING DOWN:
coming down.........
i just have to say that coming down from this last weekend has been one of the hardest “downers” i’ve had in a while after a premiere. mainly because i don’t have the guaranteed time with Jeff Fouch, Eric Falck and Michael J. Morris each week.
Our rehearsals were more like close friend time than work time and i already miss it. it’s what i wanted my dance making life to be like….friends getting together and playing and voila! a dance. and we achieved just that. and now i want it to go on forever.
and it just stopped. sunday.
