Contemporary Technique Class for 10-14 year olds created a short composition about why it is they dance. The question came about as a result of the second installment of our new Dance About Diego Blog. This question allowed for an insightful reflection on their choice to dance. Their answers informed their movement; both words and movement combined to create the piece. They were able to have real ownership of this project as a result. NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman visits Malashock Dance

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Rocco Landesman stopped by Malashock Dance at Dance Place San Diego on his tour of arts landmarks in San Diego last Saturday. Landesman was able to see our Adult Intermediate/Advanced Modern Technique class with Erica Buechner. The visit, which included a public Q&A session, was an opportunity for Malashock Dance as well as arts organizations throughout San Diego to share their successes and challenges with providing arts to the community. Last night kicked off the 17th Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival , which goes through March 21 at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center.
